Today we’d like to introduce you to a new character and game that we’re currently working on. This is Ijapa:

Ijapa is no ordinary tortoise. And considering he lives in the Wild Kingdoms, that’s probably a good thing.

After agreeing to a great race across the kingdoms, Ijapa must use all of his skills and tricks if he is to have any hope of winning.

This week, two exciting developments occurred in the land of Coatsink. Firstly, we moved our office – we’re now residents of Boho One in Middlesbrough. Come visit us, won’t you?

Secondly, our dear ol’ SuperGlad friend Fran joined us as an employee. Turns out she’s a bit camera shy.

When she comes out of hiding, she’ll be helping us introduce an all new game concept and characters to you!

1. Passion for video-games, and real interest in their development.
2. Creativity and capability as a programmer, with experience in C++/Objective-C (and ideally Cocos2D/Cocos2D-X/Marmalade).

For the moment, we’re only looking for contractors (meaning it’s not a permanent gig) BUT that could change as the months pass (and we estimate it’ll involve at least 10 weeks work per contract). On the upside, that means you don’t need to live near us! All we ask is that you keep in regular contact (Skype) and keep us updated via Basecamp (or whatever tool you want to use).

2012 has been a busy one so far, and that’s great news for a small company like us. This month, we welcome 3 new slaves… err, I mean, ‘interns’ to the fold. They are the magnificently intelligent programming trio of Alex Cukier, Kévin Bachelier and Will Hansford-White.

These reinforcements have come at the right time, as we’re currently slogging our way through four different game projects. That means some exciting geeky news, screenshots and (hopefully) GAMES will be coming your way soon, courtesy of Coatsink.
